In ancient times, Shennong taught people about medicine and farming, and was regarded as the legendary god of agriculture and medicine, also known as Shennong the Great, King of Medicine, King of the Five Grains, and the First Emperor of the Five Grains. Shilin Shennong Temple was founded during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, with a long history and culture, and is now a declared monument in Taipei City. The temple is dedicated to Shennong the Great, the God of Good Fortune and the God of Virtue. With the most pious heart, natural grains and cereals, we hope to bless peace, health and abundance of grains and cereals through the blessing of Shen Nong Da Di.
